Friday evening enjoy a trunk show and slide presentation about Julia’s design sources. Learn about Virginia Lee Burton and the Folly Cove Designers, textile artists from Gloucester, Massachusetts, who were a national sensation in the 1950s and 60s. We’ll have all of the garments from the Folly Cove booklet that Julia designed for Classic Elite Yarns.
Color class: Saturday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
Julia will have us managing multiple yarns with her simplified method for intarsia knitting like a champ. She’ll demystify the color concepts of hue and tone for planning color knitting. Classic Elite Yarns will provide a knitters playpen full of colors for our workshop. Julia will have her Albers pullover along in multiple sizes for us all to try on and many other intarsia knitting samples for our inspiration.
Structure class: Sunday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm
The set in sleeve is, for most of us, the most flattering knitted sleeve style. Julia will help us understand how the sleeve cap can be customized for our individual figures. She’ll also teach us beautiful, fearless methods for seaming in those well-crafted sleeve caps.
