Classes for January and February 2011

December 29, 2010
The Sheep's Clothing Winter 2011 class schedule includes several brand new classes:

Paintbox Scarf is a double knitting project introduced to us by Lucy Neatby when she was a guest teacher at our shop last fall.  All the versions below are knit in Kauni Effektgarn.  Debbie's version is bold, with teal against rust.  Paula's version is crayon bright.  Heidi's version is a gentle rainbow.

The Entrelac Tabard from Rosemary Drysdale's new book on entrelac knitting is another new class.  One session will begin on Monday, January 17, at 1 pm.  Another session, not published in the newsletter, will begin on Saturday, January 15, at 3 pm.

Check the Winter 2011 newsletter for other new classes and returning classes.

Continental Knitting, Saturday, August 14, 2010

August 11, 2010
The two most popular ways to knit are English style, known as throwing, and German (or Continental) style, known as picking. The resulting stitch is identical with both styles. Picking has the advantage of saving time and motion when changing frequently from knit to purl on the same row, as for ribbing or seed stitch. Throwers are invited to this free class to try picking. Join us this Saturday anytime between 10 am and 2 pm.
